Welcome to the
New CEC Website!

The field of energy has grown to encompass a range of issues as complex as the species in a healthy native ecosystem—too much for just one web page! CEC's official page is on the town website hereThank you for visiting and reading through our pages...

Join us August 23 from 4:30-6 on the

green-side of the Charlotte Library for the

SMOOTHIE BIKE, demo EVs, and lots of good information about transportation options and policy in Vermont and in our town -- this is one of the

areas of our work (check out the

transportation pages above)

Look for the CEC table at the Grange on the Greens concerts this summer! The next concert for us is Sept 9. Our student members are organizing fun activities alongside super-helpful energy information.  Thank you Carolina and Chloe!

LIGHTING THE WAY TO 2030!

We're looking toward Charlotte's energy future

by highlighting positive examples around town with strings of solar lights, like these on the EV charger and bike-fixing stand! Can you find the 8 solar light displays highlighting important energy changes afoot, such as weatherization, solar energy, EVs, e-bikes, composting, public transportation, and more? Tell us about your

own energy transformation efforts and enter to win

a set of solar lights! Open until Valentine's Day

2022. Follow this link to a description of

all of the sites.

On the last day of June,

the energy committee installed

two perky bike racks at the solar-compost shed

on the west side of CCS. The racks are close

enough to the solar-powered electrical outlet

(on the wall just inside) that an e-bike can

charge up while resting on the racks. Play in the playground, hike up Pease Mountain, or

have a picnic in the pollinator gardens while you

charge up anything you choose -- direct from the sun (via inverter and battery, learn about

solar power from the information sheet

inside the shed).
